I have always been a big believer that in even the least expected places you can find little pearls of wisdom, objet trouve if you will. And these found objects can sometimes lead to reflection. Such is the following that I found this a.m. on some "porn" site where you least expect to find them.
Reflect on that for a bit. We are never truely alone. There may not be others of a tangible nature around us but we are always in the company of the us that was. Perhaps, in some multi-verse sort of way, even the us that can be.
I think knowing that and accepting that memories from the past and dreams of the future are always there can be part of learning about ourselves and loving what we learn. And loving ourselves is the first and most important part of being a human being. Not just a person, but and actual living, breathing, member of the human race.
I love that! Love it enough to lift it and use it. 😁
ReplyDeleteLife away my friend. Enjoy.
DeleteNo wonder I am so miserable all the time. Past me was a real jerk, and apparently I will not be rid of him so long as I live.
ReplyDeletehey, you have read some of my story. Past me was not the kindest and most compassionate of people and those ghost will lurk in the corner for the rest of my life. But, now me is a much better person I believe and I suspect the same can be said for you. And for all of us future me will hopefully continue to improve. There is no need to be rid of past me but instead to embrace that person as a part of who you are today. And I think that person is pretty great.
DeleteI doubt that past me would have made any decisions differently, so I am where I am supposed to be. As we used to say in grad school, geography doesn't solve problems because wherever you go, you pack up and take your baggage with you.
ReplyDeleteHow true. Do the geographic solution to any component of you and guess who is waiting for you at your destination with open arms...the you you that you left behind. So, embrace that you and let it be a part of your growth.
