I would not want to know what is coming. Would prefer a sort of reverse discovery. There might be some nice things to re-live though. Moving from grief to happiness would be nice for a change.
It's an interesting idea, but I am skeptical that it was George Carlin's work. I tried to track down a citation for it and so far have not been successful. A lot of stuff gets attributed to Carlin that wasn't his: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/george-carlin-on-aging/
There is even a Weird Al song that references this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCSA7kKNu2Y (And Weird Al is no stranger to misattributions himself.)
Did a little digging myself and it seems it was originally written by a comedian named Sean Morey. Over the years it has been tweeked and attributed to Woody Allen, Sienfield as well as Carlin. It matters not to me, I just find it a little funny and a bit insiteful. But, in the interest of giving credit where credit is due....
Might be kinda cool to live your life backwards, though does that mean I know what's coming?
